About Me
Allow myself to introduce…myself.
Who are you?
Hey there. My name is Jared and I’m a Software Developer currently residing in Central Massachusetts with a wonderful woman and two huge mischievous cats. I’ve been in front of a computer every day since age 8 and have been a software developer professionally for about 6 years.
My first computer was an IBM PC 5155 which weighed more than I did. My first experience with programming came just after Windows 95 was released. I got a copy of Visual Basic 4.0 for my birthday and I spent that entire summer locked in my room writing code and reading every book I could get my hands on. It was awesome.
I got some exposure to C, C++, and Java in college but I left school after recieving a really fantastic offer from a company in 2004. I learned really fast that there is a huge difference between writing code in a classroom and actually shipping software. That job also introduced me to Microsoft .NET and I have been using it ever since.
Why do you blog?
I want to be the best at what I do and I feel that to be the best at something you really have to immerse yourself in it. So to be the best software developer you have to, yes, develop software but it goes further than that.
You have to submerge all your abilities and senses in software development. You have to read about it, talk about it, think about it, and most importantly have your own view about it. And having a blog really forces you to do all of those.
“Code Impossible”?
The domain name is a tribute to a comment that a friend and co-worker of mine made one day. We were deep into a project, the deadline was looming, features kept creeping in and the days were getting shorter.
Our boss asked if adding something was impossible given the shortening timeline and my friend replied “nothing is impossible, it’s only code.”
How often do you update this page?
